Service update: Normal waste and recycling bin collections restarted on 1 June, 2020. Collections will be made in line with the latest bin calendar, which you can also download.
Electrical appliances should be taken your local waste and recycling centre.

Blue Bin
Plastic Cans and Cartons
To be used for cleaned and squashed
- plastic bottles
- drinks bottles with lids
- tubs and trays
- plastic punnets
- plastic takeaway containers
- tins
- aerosols
- tin foil
- cartons
Please do not put the following in this bin: cling film, plastic carriers bags, crisp packets, hard plastic (eg toys)
Your plastics, and cartons bin will be collected every two weeks.
Green Bin
Paper and Cardboard
To be used for
- recycling paper
- flattened cardboard
- paperback books
- newspapers
- telephone directories
- magazines
- cereal boxes
Please do not put the following in this bin: bubble wrap, tissues, polystyrene, padded envelopes, hardback books, kitchen towels, wall paper, wet paper
Your paper and cardboard bin will be collected every four weeks
Brown Bin
Garden and Food
To be used for
- leaves
grass
- hedge cuttings
- flowers
- tea bags
- coffee
- all cooked and uncooked food waste
- egg shells
Please do not put the following in this bin: plastic bags, plant pots, pet waste, soil, turf, stones, liquids, building wood
Your garden and food bin will be collected every two weeks all year round
Blue Box
Glass
To be used for
- rinsed glass bottles and jars only
Please do not put the following in this bin: light bulbs, broken glass, window panes, mirrors
Your glass box will be collected every four weeks
Grey Bin
Non-recyclables
To be used for any items you cannot recycle
- polystyrene
- plastic film
- nappies
- cling film
- plastic bags
Please do not put the following in this bin: recyclables, electricals
Your non-recyclables bin will be collected every two weeks
