Tenant Participation - Have your say on services!
We hope to arrange an open day to speak to tenants regarding Tenant Participation and see how engagement can be improved. Dates/times/venue for this is still to be confirmed.
We have a new Tenant Participation Officer, Leza Lafferty. Leza is employed by the Tenant Participation Advisory Service (TPAS) and will be supporting Stirling Council tenants to get involved and influence decisions about the housing service. Leza has worked in housing for over 25 years and is looking forward to working with tenants in Stirling.
Stirling Council’s Tenant Participation Strategy is currently under review. If you would like to be involved in this review please contact us by email or by phone on 01786 237661 or call in to see her at Allan Water House. You can be involved as much or as little as you like but all participation is appreciated and can help Stirling Council provide a better service.

Stirling Council and TPAS Webinars
Stirling Council work in partnership with Tenants Participation Scotland (TPAS) and during lockdown TPAS have been holding free webinars available to staff and tenants throughout Scotland. Some of the webinars so far have included, ‘Continuing to engage with tenants during lockdown’, ‘The Scottish Housing Regulator’, ‘Know your rights – Freedom of Information’. We have received very good feedback on these webinars, and they have proven to be a good way to still get involved even if you are shielding. They are very informal but informative.
You can access the webinars by using a laptop, a computer, a phone or a tablet. If you sign up for a webinar you will receive an email with a link and you simply click on the link to join. For more details and to see what webinars are coming up please go to www.tpasscotland.org.uk/events.
If you don't have much time to spare, consider being part of the Tenants’ Panel. You will take part in online or postal surveys and be invited to focus groups or meetings when they come up. You will be asked about lots of different things about housing and have a chance to tell the council what you think about and suggested changes to services.
We are looking for tenants who would like to be a link between housing services and other tenants in your area. You can represent a part of your street or the whole area. You will be asked to speak to other tenants to find out their views and help make sure other tenants know what’s going on in housing services. Training and support will be provided.
Tenant Led Inspections
We are looking for tenants who want to inspect Housing Services. It’s a chance to make recommendations about how services can be improved. You will get access to training and will have to commit to a few full days to carry out the inspection. It’s a great way to learn new skills and meet new people.
Housing Advisory Group
This is an opportunity for Councillors and tenants to get together to discuss housing policy and developing the service. You need to apply to become a member and you will have access to training and support for staff. There are six meetings per year and tenant members are expected to attend all.
