Support to find the right job

Fair Start Scotland is an employment support service helping people living in Scotland to find work. We are delivering the Fair Start Scotland service in the Forth Valley area supporting Stirling Council area residents.

Fair Start Scotland can support you if you are struggling to find a job which meets your needs because you:

  • have been unemployed for a long time
  • have caring responsibilities
  • are a single parent
  • are a care leaver
  • have a health condition, a disability or additional support needs

Keyworker support

Fair Start Scotland is a voluntary programme that treats people with dignity and respect by providing flexible support and taking into account personal circumstances. If you choose to take part you will be allocated a key worker who will support you to:

  • remove barriers to accessing work
  • access a tailored programme of support
  • identify skills and experiences and create a CV
  • identify opportunities to help you gain new skills and experience
  • prepare for interviews
  • find jobs which meet your needs
  • sustain your job through in-work support

You may be eligible for our Fair Start Scotland's programme if you:
  • live in Scotland
  • have the right to work in the UK
  • are over 18 and out of work
  • are 16 or 17 and are either disabled or in receipt of Employment Support Allowance or Universal Credit
Choosing to take part in Fair Start Scotland will not affect your benefits.
