Start up Stirling, Feeding a Family Christmas Campaign

It’s easier than ever before to donate to Start-Up Stirling, with foodbank donation stations now in all Stirling Council libraries, including mobile libraries.
The new stations will add to the busy drop-off points at St. Ninians, Cambusbarron, Plean and Drymen libraries. They’ll run until January and will continue if they are successful.  Food items handed into libraries are picked up regularly by volunteers and added to supplies for distribution throughout the Stirling Council area.
Stirling Council’s Community and Regeneration Convenor Cllr Corrie McChord said: “We are very happy to help Start-up Stirling by extending donation points to all our libraries.  This will highlight the work of this important charity and make it easier for supporters throughout the Stirling Council area to donate.  This in turn means more essential items will be available for those most in need.”

Linda Sterry, Acting Project Co-ordinator of Start-up Stirling, said “Start-Up Stirling are delighted to have the opportunity to extend our existing partnership with Stirling Council Library services.  I would like to thank the Council for continued support of our work.   We would struggle to reach some of the more rural communities with crisis food support without help from the libraries.”
