The Local Authority’s Building Standards service has approved and verified building work carried out by the property owner’s private contractor to install a temporary support structure at the damaged property above the Let’s Party store.

The structural support will ensure that the building is safe in the short term, while the owner undertakes the necessary permanent repair works.

The road is now open in both directions to traffic and the pavement is fully accessible to pedestrians.

Boardings have been erected outside Let’s Party on Port Street to facilitate the future permanent repair works, and the store will continue to remain open for business during this period. Access to the store will be maintained via the nearby pend.

A Stirling Council spokesperson said: “We appreciate the patience and understanding of both the business community and the public during this period of unforeseen disruption.

“Protecting public safety and maintaining access to the shops has always been the priority. We are continuing to work with the property owners and businesses to ensure the full repair of the building is completed as quickly as possible.”
