Tuesday 24 March 2020
Stirling businesses can now apply for cash grants of between £10,000 and £25,000 as part of a new Coronavirus support fund.
Economic Plan

This follows an announcement by the Scottish Government and work between Government officials and Stirling Council to agree a process for the timely and effective processing of grants so they are delivered as soon as possible.

These grants are for all small firms receiving the small business bonus or rural relief, and for leisure, hospitality and retail properties with a rateable value between £18,000 and £51,000.

We will endeavour to pay all eligible businesses within 10 days of application.

To apply please complete the online form here.

Businesses should note that the Council will prioritise letting payments to businesses as quickly as possible, therefore they will not be contacted unless there is a need to discuss the application further. All successful grant applications will simply be paid into the nominated bank account.

Convener of Stirling Council's Finance and Economy Committee, Councillor Margaret Brisley, said: "Stirling Council and our partners are fully aware of the huge impact the coronavirus outbreak is having on local businesses and, through the swift processing of these new grants, we are continuing to do everything we can to support your business and employees during this difficult time."

Vice Convener, Councillor Alison Laurie, said: "We are all pulling together to support businesses as they face significant disruption as a consequence of the coronavirus and these new grants will provide essential support for them while this period of uncertainty continues."
